How We Worship
WBPC conducts traditional worship services.
A typical Order of Worship includes:
Announcements
Organ/Piano Prelude;
Call to Worship;
Hymn;
Prayer of Adoration and Confession ;
Assurance of Pardon;
Gloria Patri;
Special Music/Choir Anthem;
First Scripture Lesson;
Moment for Children and Youth;
Prayers of the People, Joys, and Concerns,
The Lord’s Prayer;
Sermon Hymn;
Offering;
Second Scripture Lesson;
Sermon/Reflection;
Closing Hymn;
Charge and Benediction.
The Call to Worship, Prayer of Adoration and Confession, Assurance of Pardon and First Scripture Lesson are presented by weekly liturgists who are members of the Congregation.
The service lasts about an hour.
Christian Education Hour/Sunday School classes are Bible based and taught
by members of the Congregation.
The Congregation participates in all special offerings
sponsored by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.):
One Great Hour of Sharing; Pentecost;
Peacemaking; Thanksgiving; and Christmas Joy.
